Frequently Asked Questions
Where are my screen recordings saved?
They are temporarily saved in your browser's local memory (RAM). Once you close the tab, they are deleted forever. You must click 'Download' to save them to your hard drive.
Why does the GIF conversion take a while?
Encoding a GIF requires extracting every single video frame, quantizing the colors, and compressing the data. Doing this locally in Javascript is computationally heavy, so it depends entirely on your computer's CPU speed.
Is there a time limit on recordings?
There is no hard limit imposed by our software. However, since the video is stored in your computer's RAM during recording, extremely long recordings (multiple hours) might cause your browser to crash.
